Example 1 - Self Builder
Our client had purchased a site with a tiny single storey flat roofed chalet on it at auction with the intention of demolishing the chalet and building a new home for his family.
He had consulted various architects all of whom informed him that he would not be able to do anything more than simply copy what was already on the site. The Planners were not too helpful either, advising him to not even consider a first floor.
Much disheartened, and believing he had bought a white elephant he called in Chris Billington from The Billington Consultancy as his last resort. Having listened to what he had previously been advised, and loving a challenge, Chris advised him what was actually possible and with a bit of lateral thinking and a pro-active approach how he could achieve his requirements.
Thankfully, we were appointed, designed a superb large two storey four bedroom house, oh and a basement games room too, meeting all the clients spatial requirements (and more). The client loved the design (which was nice), the planners, surprisingly after what they had previously advised, had no objections either, other than a slight repositioning of the building by a mere 1 metre! Result – one happy client getting far more than he had been advised he would get and for that matter what even he though he would get.
